The glitchy chaos that was a major turn-off during Grimes‘ highly anticipated Coachella set wasn’t part of the performance art. The musician known for her unique style and hands-on approach, blending sci-fi elements into her music, issued an apology to her fans due to severe technical failure in the middle of her set. The on-stage nightmare left her visibly frustrated and screaming.

Grimes Coachella set met with a technical mess

“I love Grimes’s music, and the pressure must be crazy to do a show like this – but her show at Coachella is the musician’s version of nightmares where your teeth fall out and everyone laughs.” A fan who happened to be at the Coachella Valley wrote on X following the performance.

The singer-songwriter struggled with equipment issues throughout her set on Saturday. The first part of her set went off without a hitch, but in the second half, she had to explain and correct programming on the mixing desk. She even apologised to fans for the mess. During her set, she said, “All my tracks are double tempo and I can’t do the math. They’re borderline un-mixable, so the rest of my set won’t be mixes but it’ll still be fun.”

Later on, festival-goers commented on how she tried to remain composed while dealing with the issues, but she was screaming out of frustration as nothing seemed to be working correctly and everything was a jumble.

Grimes apologises for chaotic Coachella set

Taking to her X handle (formerly Twitter), the Oblivion singer posted a lengthy reflection on what went wrong. She described having a bad feeling about the set after letting others prepare her equipment without running a check. “I want to apologize for the technical issues with the show tonight. I wanted to come back rly strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself – to save time this was one of the first times I’ve outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm’s and letting someone else organize the tracks on the sd card etc. I had a bad feeling beforehand not having run everything through the cdjs myself and tho I flagged it I wasn’t insistent.”

Stating that she learned a few big lessons: “if u want it done right, do it yrself,” “be a c— even if ppl feel bad,” and “probably pretend it’s fine and engage w the crowd rather than spend a whole show slumped over the desk trying to fix software when ur meant to be entertaining,” she vowed to personally organize things for her follow-up gig and asked fans to forgive her.

The pop icon will be embracing Quinn’s character in Joker: Folie a Deux, which Margot Robbie previously helmed for a long stretch in movies like Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and the 2021 movie, The Suicide Squad. Since Phillips’ Joker films constitute a storyline for the DC Elseworlds narrative, they’re disjoint from James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted birth of DC Studios.

Why is Joker: Folie a Deux rated R?

On Wednesday, the Motion Picture Association announced the Joker sequel as rated R. The 2024 continuation of the 2019 film follows in its footsteps regarding this issue.

The previous Joker outing was labelled R-rated due to “strong bloody violence, disturbing behaviour, language and brief sexual images.” Similarly, according to the MPA daily rating bulletin no. 2828, Joker 2 reeled in the same status for “some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality, and brief full nudity.”

The first Joker 2 trailer will officially drop on April 9, 2024. Alongside Phoenix and Gaga, the musical thriller also stars Catherine Keener, Zazie Beetz and Brendan Gleeson. Although its plot is still under wraps, the October 4 premiere is being touted as a jukebox musical, according to previous reports.

Mythri Movie Makers have roped in Ajith Kumar for Adhik Ravichandran’s Good Bad Ugly. Filming for the movie starts in June and it will be a Pongal 2025 release. Working with my matinee idol AK sir has been a long cherished dream and I’m emotionally overwhelmed working with him. I thank producers Naveen Yerneni sir and Ravi Shankar sir for this opportunity.”

The film has a seasoned technical crew bringing in their expertise to one of the biggest projects of Indian Cinema.

The DOP for the project will be Abinandhan Ramanujam and Vijay Velukutty will be the editor. Stunts will be choreographed by Supreme Sundar, Kaloian Vodenicharov.

Ajith Kumar health update

Recently, Ajith underwent a medical treatment. The actor underwent treatment for a swollen nerve last week. He is now back home. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to his X account to share an update about Ajith on Saturday. He wrote, “Actor #Ajithkumar has returned home from his recent hospital visit. All is well! (sic)” A fan also shared a picture of Ajith taken from a distance at a football field. They wrote, “Dealing fake Id and Fake news like this. He is cool and doing his work. Focus on target, and not on Fake attention. Name is #Ajithkumar. (sic)”

Ajith’s spokesperson, Suresh Chandra told Zoom that the actor underwent a minor medical procedure to treat a swollen nerve between his ear and brain. “On Thursday, Ajith sir got admitted to the hospital for a general examination. There was undue swelling in the nerve connecting his ear to the brain. Doctors got rid of it now with a simple medical procedure. Ajith is fine, he walked from the ward to the ICU,” he said.

Newlywed actor Malvika Raaj, known for her iconic role as young Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, is all set to celebrate her first Valentine’s Day post-wedding with her husband Pranav Bagga. “He should plan something special for me. We dated for 10 years and then got married. So, we have been celebrating V-day since our first year of dating till now.”

Recalling their previous celebrations, Malvika shared, “Earlier, we went for romantic candlelight dinners, once he had booked a very pretty boat for me, once we went trekking. So, we do things where we get to spend a lot of time together and tick off the bucket list as well.”

While Malvika believes in celebrating love every day, she admits to being a bit cheesy when it comes to Valentine’s Day. “I don’t believe in celebrating your love just one day; it should be celebrated every day. But, since there is a dedicated day only for that particular reason, then we are quite cheesy that way.”

As for the Valentine’s Day gift, Raaj shares, “I think my gift is to plan this whole thing (trip) and gift it to him as an experience.”

Gary Graham, renowned for his role in shows like Alien Nation and Star Trek passed away on Monday at the age of 73. The actor’s former wife, Susan Lavelle, conveyed the heartbreaking news through a Facebook post. In a tribute she wrote “It is with deep profound sadness to say that Gary Graham, my ex husband, amazing actor and father of our beautiful only child together, Haylee Graham, has passed away today,”

Heartbreaking Loss

Lavelle expressed that she, along with her daughter and Graham’s wife of nearly 25 years, Becky, were utterly devastated by the unexpected loss. She added that Becky was with him by his side during his passing.

Becky subsequently confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Graham passed away from cardiac arrest at a hospital in Spokane, Washington.

Early Days

Born on June 6, 1950, in Long Beach, CA, Graham took his first step into acting with the 1975 film Lost on Paradise Island. His journey continued with notable television roles in Eight is Enough, Starsky and Hutch, Knots Landing, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Moonlighting, paving the way for his significant breakthrough as a co-star on the television series Alien Nation.

Among Graham’s notable career milestone is his multi-year portrayal of Vulcan Ambassador Soval on Star Trek: Enterprise from 2001 to 2005. Preceding his time on Enterprise, Graham also made an appearance in the Star Trek: Voyager episode Cold Fire.

Gary Graham’s Television and Film Journey

Graham’s extensive career featured notable contributions to television, with appearances on The Incredible Hulk, Knots Landing, T.J. Hooker, Moonlighting, The Commish, Renegade, Ally McBeal, JAG, Crossing Jordan, and Nip/Tuck. His film credits include roles in Robot Jox (1989), The Last Warrior (1989), and Champion (2017).

Beyond his acting career, Graham served as a fully qualified paramedic during his tenure on Alien Nation. Additionally, he showcased his musical talents as a member of The Gary Graham Band and The Sons of Kirk. He is survived by his wife Becky and daughter, Haley.

A background actor involved in the movie has initiated a lawsuit against British actor Mia Goth. The complaint alleges that the 30-year-old actress, known for her role in Infinity Pool, engaged in battery against him and played a role in his unjust termination from the film, which occurred after he filed a complaint against her. The lawsuit also names the film’s director, Ti West, and studio A24.

According to court documents obtained by People, the background actor identified as James Hunter stated in the lawsuit that he was contracted for a three-day period in April to portray a Dad Parishioner” in the A24 horror film.

The film revolves around a girl who survived a massacre. Hunter alleges that he was instructed to lie in the dirt on set “for several hours” and had to endure the presence of “ants and mosquitoes” while Mia Goth ran past him on the ground for the scene.

Allegations of On-Set Misconduct

Hunter claims that during the fourth take, Mia Goth came dangerously close to stepping on him. He asserts that he promptly reported the incident to the second assistant director, who, as stated in the filing, “warned” the actress to “exercise caution in her steps.” Subsequently, Hunter alleges that in the following take, Goth “intentionally kicked” him in the head with her foot.

Following the kick, he reported experiencing a “headache” and “stiffness in his neck,” which he promptly communicated to the second assistant director. The information was then relayed to both Goth and West. Notably, he mentioned the absence of any medical assistance provided on set, and West continued filming until the scene was finished.

Allegations of On-Set Harassment

The background actor further claimed that Mia Goth “invaded” his privacy in the set bathroom, where she allegedly “laughed,” “taunted,” “mocked,” and “belittled” him, and even “dared” him to “do anything about it.”

On the subsequent day, Hunter asserted that he received an email from a casting agency, informing him that he had been removed for the “remaining two days of production” and was “banned” from the movie set, with “no reason” provided.

As stated in the lawsuit, Hunter is pursuing charges of $250,000 for “medical expenses,” “rehabilitation,” and “related expenses,” in addition to seeking “punitive and/or exemplary damages.”
